Crispy, golden mozzarella sticks made easily in your air fryer with minimal oil.
Ingredients

- 8 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- Cut each mozzarella stick in half.
- Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper.
- Dredge each mozzarella piece in flour, then egg, then breadcrumb mixture, pressing firmly to coat.
- Place coated sticks on a plate and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray and arrange sticks in a single layer.
- Air fry for 4-5 minutes until golden and crispy.
- Serve immediately with marinara sauce.
Notes
- Freezing prevents cheese from melting too quickly.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
- For extra crispiness, spray the sticks lightly with oil before air frying.
