Description

A flavorful stuffing with apples and cranberries, perfect for holiday meals.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread, cubed (about 8 cups)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 2 apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups chicken or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast for 10 minutes.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onion and celery for 5 minutes.
  4. Add apples and cook for another 3 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, combine toasted bread, sautéed vegetables, cranberries, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Gradually pour broth over the mixture, stirring until evenly moist.
  7. Transfer to a greased baking dish, cover, and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Uncover and bake for 10 more minutes until golden.
