Description

Classic apple cider donuts with a spiced sugar coating. Soft, cake-like texture with a hint of apple flavor. Perfect for fall mornings or cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a donut pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix sugars, apple cider, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Stir until just mixed.
  5. Fill donut pan cavities 2/3 full with batter.
  6. Bake 10-12 minutes until donuts spring back when touched.
  7. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. Dip warm donuts in cinnamon sugar if desired.

Notes

  • Reduce apple cider for thicker batter if needed
  • Substitute buttermilk for milk if preferred
