- 1 cup white rice
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups milk
- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp butter
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Rinse the rice under cold water and drain.
- In a pot, bring water to a boil. Add rice, reduce heat, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add milk, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir well.
- Cook on low heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add diced apples and vanilla extract. Cook for another 10 minutes.
- Stir in butter and remove from heat. Let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use firm apples like Granny Smith for better texture.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
- For a richer taste, use whole milk or add a splash of cream.
