- 1 1/2 cups cold butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup ice water
- 8 cups thinly sliced apples
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix flour and salt, then cut in butter until crumbly.
- Gradually add ice water, stirring until dough forms.
- Divide dough in half and roll each into a rectangle.
- Press one dough rectangle into a greased baking sheet.
- Toss apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice, then spread over crust.
- Top with the second dough rectangle, sealing edges.
- Cut slits in the top crust for ventilation.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool before slicing.
