Description

Flaky puff pastry filled with spiced apple and topped with a crunchy streusel. Perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp cold butter, cubed
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  3. Cut puff pastry into 4 squares. Spoon apple mixture onto each square.
  4. Fold pastry diagonally to form triangles. Seal edges with a fork.
  5. Combine flour and butter to make streusel. Sprinkle over turnovers.
  6. Brush with egg wash. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith for best texture.
  • Chill dough before baking for flakier results.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
