- 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup milk or cream
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Boil sweet potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain and return to the pot.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
- Add brown butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.
- Mash until smooth.
- Adjust seasoning if needed.
Notes
- For extra creaminess, use heavy cream instead of milk.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon for warmth.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
