Description

Creamy mashed sweet potatoes with a rich brown butter flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil sweet potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Drain and return to the pot.
  3. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
  4. Add brown butter, milk, salt, and pepper to the potatoes.
  5. Mash until smooth.
  6. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, use heavy cream instead of milk.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for warmth.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
