- 1 cup unsalted butter, browned
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp ground cloves
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Let it cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, mix browned butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in pumpkin puree.
- In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the pumpkin mixture, stirring until combined.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cake cool completely before frosting.
