Description
A crispy, flavorful Cajun deep-fried turkey seasoned with spices and cooked to perfection.
Ingredients

- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 3 tbsp Cajun seasoning
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tbsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp salt
- 3 gallons peanut oil
Instructions
- Pat the turkey dry inside and out.
- Mix Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, black pepper, and salt in a bowl.
- Rub the seasoning mix all over the turkey, including under the skin.
- Heat peanut oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Slowly lower the turkey into the hot oil and fry for 3-4 minutes per pound.
- Check the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) in the thickest part of the thigh.
- Remove the turkey and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a thermometer to monitor oil temperature.
- Keep a fire extinguisher nearby for safety.
- Do not overcrowd the fryer.
