Description

A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring fresh mozzarella, ripe tomatoes, and basil.


Ingredients

  • 2 slices of bread
  • 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 45 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  3. Layer mozzarella, tomato, and basil on the unbuttered side of one bread slice.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Top with the second bread slice, buttered side up.
  6. Drizzle olive oil in the skillet.
  7. Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Remove from heat, slice, and serve.
