Description

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 6 wooden sticks

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring. Cook until it turns golden brown.
  5. Remove from heat and carefully add heavy cream, butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir until smooth.
  6. Dip each apple into the caramel, swirling to coat evenly. Place on the baking sheet.
  7. Let the caramel set for 30 minutes before serving.

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best results.
  • Work quickly when dipping apples as caramel thickens.
