- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
- 1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in egg and vanilla extract until dough comes together.
- Press two-thirds of the dough into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Spread cherry pie filling evenly over the crust.
- Mix remaining dough with oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Crumble over the cherry filling.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until topping is golden brown.
- Cool completely before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Use cold butter for the best texture.
- Let the bars cool completely to set properly.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
