Ingredients

  • 1 pound chestnuts, roasted and peeled
  • 4 cups cubed bread (day-old preferred)
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp fresh sage, chopped
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a pan and sauté onion and celery until soft.
  3. Add chestnuts, sage, and thyme. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Mix in bread cubes and broth until moistened.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Transfer to a baking dish and bake for 30 minutes until golden.
