Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, cocoa powder, and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Cut in chilled butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. Add egg yolk and mix until dough forms.
  5. Press dough into a tart pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Heat heavy cream until simmering, then pour over chopped chocolate.
  7. Stir until smooth, add vanilla, and pour into the baked crust.
  8. Arrange sliced strawberries on top and refrigerate for 2 hours.
