Description

Juicy, flavorful carne asada served in warm tortillas with fresh toppings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs flank or skirt steak
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup chopped cilantro
  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

Instructions

  1. Mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Coat steak with marinade. Refrigerate for 1-4 hours.
  3. Heat grill or skillet to high heat. Cook steak 3-5 minutes per side.
  4. Let steak rest 5 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain.
  5. Warm tortillas on a dry skillet for 30 seconds per side.
  6. Fill tortillas with steak, onion, and cilantro. Serve with lime wedges.
