A rich and creamy potato gratin with layers of thinly sliced potatoes baked in a cheesy sauce.
Ingredients

- 4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 2 tbsp butter, for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half the potato slices in the dish.
- Sprinkle half the garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg over the potatoes.
- Pour half the cream over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle half the Gruyère and Parmesan cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- Let the gratin rest to set before cutting.
- Substitute with cheddar if Gruyère is unavailable.
