Description

A hearty dish of collard greens cooked with smoked turkey for a rich, savory flavor.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bunch collard greens, washed and chopped
  • 1 smoked turkey leg or wing
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion and garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add smoked turkey and cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  5. Add collard greens and red pepper flakes.
  6. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Remove turkey meat from the bone and shred before serving if desired.
  • Adjust spice level by reducing or increasing red pepper flakes.
