Description
Cowboy Candy, also known as candied jalapeños, is a sweet and spicy condiment. It’s perfect for adding a kick to burgers, tacos, or cheese boards.
Ingredients

- 1 pound fresh jalapeños, sliced
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon celery seed
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Sterilize canning jars and lids.
- Combine vinegar, sugar, turmeric, celery seed, garlic powder, and cayenne in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
- Add sliced jalapeños and simmer for 4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Pack jalapeños into jars, then pour syrup over them, leaving 1/4-inch headspace.
- Seal jars and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
Notes
- Wear gloves when handling jalapeños to avoid skin irritation.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 months.
- Use as a topping for meats, sandwiches, or crackers.
