Description

A simple and creamy side dish made with sweet potatoes, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup milk or cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place sweet potatoes in a large pot and cover with water.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium and cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add butter, milk, salt, pepper, and cinnamon (if using).
  5. Mash with a potato masher or blend until smooth.
  6. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra creaminess, add more milk or butter.
  • You can roast the sweet potatoes for deeper flavor.
  • Garnish with chopped herbs or a drizzle of maple syrup if desired.
