Description

Creamy scalloped potatoes are a classic side dish made with thinly sliced potatoes layered in a rich, creamy sauce and baked until golden and tender.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish with butter.
  3. Layer half the potato slices in the dish.
  4. Pour half the cream over the potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle half the cheese, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining ingredients.
  7. Dot with butter.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  9. Let rest 10 minutes before serving.
