Description

A classic comfort food dish featuring thinly sliced potatoes baked in a creamy sauce.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a baking dish.
  4. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses on top.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
  9. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Use a mandoline slicer for even potato slices.
  • You can add cooked bacon or ham for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
