- 6 cups thinly sliced apples
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Mix apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Line a deep-dish pie plate with one crust.
- Pour apple mixture into crust and dot with butter.
- Cover with second crust, seal edges, and cut slits in top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor.
- Cover edges with foil if crust browns too quickly.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
