Description

A delicious upside-down plum tart with caramelized sugar.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 plums, halved and pitted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add sugar and vanilla extract, stir until caramelized.
  4. Arrange plum halves cut-side down in the caramel.
  5. Roll out puff pastry and place over plums, tucking edges.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  7. Let cool slightly, then invert onto a plate.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm plums.
  • Work quickly when handling caramel.
  • Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
