Description

A moist and flavorful apple cake topped with creamy frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch cake pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until light. Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  4. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until combined.
  5. Fold in apples and walnuts.
  6. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 35-40 minutes. Cool completely.
  7. Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla.
  8. Frost the cooled cake.
