Description

A refreshing and zesty ginger lemonade perfect for hot days. This drink combines the spicy kick of ginger with the tangy freshness of lemon.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 cup honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine grated ginger and 1 cup of water. Simmer for 5 minutes, then let it steep for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain the ginger water into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
  3. Add lemon juice, honey (or sugar), and remaining 3 cups of cold water to the pitcher. Stir well until sweetener dissolves.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and mint if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey/sugar.
  • For a stronger ginger flavor, steep longer or add more ginger.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
