Classic pumpkin doughnuts with a sweet glaze.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cloves
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
- Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices in a bowl.
- In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into doughnut shapes.
- Fry doughnuts for 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze.
- Dip cooled doughnuts in glaze.
- Let glaze set before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh pumpkin puree for best flavor.
- Don’t overcrowd the fryer.
