Description

Classic pumpkin doughnuts with a sweet glaze.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
  2. Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and spices in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix pumpkin puree, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into doughnut shapes.
  6. Fry doughnuts for 2 minutes per side until golden brown.
  7. Drain on paper towels.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze.
  9. Dip cooled doughnuts in glaze.
  10. Let glaze set before serving.
