Description

Hasselback sweet potatoes are a visually appealing and delicious side dish. Thin slices are made along the potato without cutting all the way through, creating a fan-like effect when baked.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium sweet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and dry sweet potatoes.
  3. Place potatoes between two chopsticks or wooden spoons to prevent cutting all the way through.
  4. Make thin slices across each potato, about 1/8-inch apart.
  5. Brush potatoes with olive oil, making sure to get between slices.
  6. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until tender.
  8. Remove from oven and drizzle with melted butter and rosemary.

Notes

  • Use a sharp knife for clean cuts.
  • Adjust baking time based on potato size.
  • For crispier edges, broil for last 2-3 minutes.
