Description
A rich and aromatic chai concentrate you can make at home. Mix with hot water or milk for a flavorful tea.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups water
- 8 black tea bags
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 10 whole cloves
- 10 cardamom pods, crushed
- 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp black peppercorns
Instructions
- Boil water in a pot.
- Add tea bags, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger, and peppercorns.
- Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in sugar until dissolved.
- Strain the mixture and let it cool.
- Store in a jar and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Adjust sugar to taste.
- Use any type of black tea.
- For iced chai, pour over ice and add milk.
