Description

A rich and aromatic chai concentrate you can make at home. Mix with hot water or milk for a flavorful tea.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups water
  • 8 black tea bags
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 10 cardamom pods, crushed
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 tsp black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a pot.
  2. Add tea bags, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, ginger, and peppercorns.
  3. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until dissolved.
  5. Strain the mixture and let it cool.
  6. Store in a jar and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Adjust sugar to taste.
  • Use any type of black tea.
  • For iced chai, pour over ice and add milk.
