Description

A moist and flavorful homemade spice cake topped with rich cream cheese frosting. Perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  4. Mix in milk, sour cream, and vanilla.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool completely before frosting.
