Description

A unique Southern treat combining sweet Kool-Aid with tangy pickles for a surprising flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 jar dill pickles (32 oz)
  • 1 packet unsweetened Kool-Aid (any red flavor)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup pickle juice (reserved from the jar)

Instructions

  1. Drain pickle juice from the jar into a bowl. Reserve 1/2 cup.
  2. Cut pickles into spears or leave whole.
  3. Mix Kool-Aid packet, sugar, and reserved pickle juice until dissolved.
  4. Pour mixture back into the pickle jar with the pickles.
  5. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 3 days before serving.

Notes

  • Shake the jar daily to distribute the color evenly.
  • For stronger flavor, let pickles soak for up to a week.
