Description
Mini Beef Wellingtons are a delicious and elegant appetizer or main course. They feature tender beef fillet wrapped in puff pastry with a savory mushroom filling.

- 1 lb beef fillet, cut into 4 equal pieces
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 cup mushrooms, finely chopped
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Season the beef fillets with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sear the beef fillets for 1-2 minutes per side. Remove and let cool.
- In the same pan, melt butter and sauté mushrooms until soft. Set aside.
- Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4 squares.
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each pastry square.
- Place a spoonful of mushrooms in the center, then top with a beef fillet.
- Fold the pastry over the beef, sealing the edges. Brush with egg wash.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Let the beef cool before wrapping to prevent soggy pastry.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the puff pastry for clean edges.
- For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of thyme to the mushrooms.
