- 4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, about 15 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
- Add butter and milk. Mash until smooth.
- Stir in cheddar cheese, sour cream, bacon, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined.
- Garnish with green onions if desired.
- Serve hot.

- For extra creaminess, use heavy cream instead of milk.
