Crispy mozzarella sticks coated in a spicy Nashville hot seasoning for a bold twist on a classic appetizer.

- 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- Cut mozzarella sticks in half for shorter pieces or keep whole.
- Mix flour, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, brown sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Dip each mozzarella stick in the flour mix, then beaten eggs, then breadcrumbs.
- Freeze coated sticks for 30 minutes to set.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry sticks for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing.
Notes
- Freezing prevents cheese from melting too quickly.
- Adjust cayenne for more or less heat.
- Use a thermometer to keep oil at 350°F.
