Description

Delicate French tea cakes flavored with orange zest.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease madeleine molds.
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Fold in melted butter and orange zest.
  4. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt into the mixture.
  5. Spoon batter into molds, filling each 3/4 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Cool slightly before removing from molds.

  • Use fresh orange zest for best flavor.
  • Chill batter for 30 minutes for better rise.
  • Serve warm with tea or coffee.
