- 1 loaf day-old bread, cubed
- 1 pint shucked oysters, drained
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried sage
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté onion, celery, and garlic until soft.
- Add thyme, sage, and pepper. Stir for 1 minute.
- Mix in bread cubes and parsley.
- Fold in oysters gently.
- Pour broth over mixture until moist but not soggy.
- Transfer to a baking dish.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.

- Use fresh oysters for best flavor.
- Adjust broth amount based on bread dryness.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
