Description

A classic apple pie with a flaky crust and sweet apple filling.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups sliced apples
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix apples, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  3. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish.
  4. Pour the apple mixture into the crust.
  5. Dot the top with small pieces of butter.
  6. Cover with the second crust and seal the edges.
  7. Cut slits in the top crust for steam to escape.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm apples like Granny Smith for best texture.
  • Add a sprinkle of sugar on top before baking for extra crispness.
  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
