- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Orange food coloring
- Black decorating icing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients. Add orange food coloring.
- Roll dough into balls, flatten slightly, and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool completely.
- Use black icing to draw Jack-O’-Lantern faces.
Notes
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if too soft.
- Use gel food coloring for vibrant orange.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
