Description

A delightful dessert combining the flavors of pumpkin and custard in a light, layered cake.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk, lukewarm
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, and egg yolks until smooth.
  4. Add vanilla, flour, milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Gently fold in the beaten egg whites until just combined.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set.
  8. Let cool before slicing. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
