Description

A delicious pumpkin pie with a smooth, spiced filling and a golden, crisp cinnamon streusel topping.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15 oz) can pumpkin puree
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix pumpkin, sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves.
  3. Beat in eggs, then stir in evaporated milk until smooth.
  4. Pour filling into pie crust.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon for the streusel.
  6. Sprinkle streusel over the pie filling.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 40-45 minutes.
  8. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Check pie at 35 minutes to prevent over-browning.
  • Let pie set for at least 2 hours before slicing.
