Description

A moist and flavorful pumpkin spice layer cake with cream cheese frosting, perfect for fall gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk, mixing until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Frost with cream cheese frosting and serve.
