A simple and quick cornbread recipe made in a skillet.
Ingredients

- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place a 10-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven to heat.
- In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk, oil, and egg. Stir until just combined.
- Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven.
- Pour batter into the skillet.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- Do not overmix the batter.
- For a crispier crust, preheat the skillet longer.
