Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 medium tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, quartered
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 12 jalapeño peppers
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin

Instructions

  1. Preheat broiler or grill to high.
  2. Place tomatoes, onion, garlic, and jalapeños on a baking sheet.
  3. Roast under the broiler or on the grill for 10-12 minutes until charred.
  4. Remove skins from tomatoes and peppers if desired.
  5. Blend all ingredients in a food processor until smooth.
  6. Adjust seasoning with salt and lime juice to taste.

  • Use gloves when handling jalapeños.
