Description

A hearty and comforting dish made with minced meat and vegetables, topped with creamy mashed potatoes and baked until golden.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground lamb or beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Boil potatoes until tender, then mash with butter and milk.
  3. In a skillet, cook meat until browned. Remove excess fat.
  4. Add onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  5. Stir in tomato paste, broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
  6. Simmer for 10 minutes, then add peas.
  7. Transfer meat mixture to a baking dish, top with mashed potatoes.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

Notes

  • Use ground beef if lamb is unavailable.
  • Add grated cheese on top for extra flavor.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
