- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Mix yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, ginger, garlic, turmeric, and cayenne in a bowl.
- Add chicken and coat well. Marinate for 30 minutes or overnight.
- Place marinated chicken in slow cooker. Add tomato sauce and stir.
- Cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Stir in heavy cream and butter. Cook for another 15 minutes.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
Notes
- For spicier flavor, increase cayenne pepper.
- Replace heavy cream with coconut milk for a dairy-free option.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
