Description

A comforting and creamy casserole with ground beef, sour cream, and egg noodles.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix sour cream and cottage cheese.
  6. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half the noodles, followed by half the sour cream mixture, then half the beef mixture. Repeat layers.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with green onions if desired.

  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
  • Use cream cheese instead of cottage cheese for extra richness.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
