A creamy and savory dish made with layers of sweet potatoes, cheese, and herbs.
Ingredients

- 2 large sweet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer sweet potato slices in a greased baking dish.
- Mix cream, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl.
- Pour half the cream mixture over the sweet potatoes.
- Sprinkle half the cheese on top.
- Repeat layers with remaining sweet potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for even slices.
- Substitute Parmesan for Gruyère if preferred.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
