Description

A creamy and savory dish made with layers of sweet potatoes, cheese, and herbs.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large sweet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Layer sweet potato slices in a greased baking dish.
  3. Mix cream, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  4. Pour half the cream mixture over the sweet potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle half the cheese on top.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining sweet potatoes, cream mixture, and cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use a mandoline for even slices.
  • Substitute Parmesan for Gruyère if preferred.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
