Ingredients

  • 1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
  • 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Place the pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, mix mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, salt, eggs, melted butter, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until smooth.
  4. Pour the sweet potato mixture into the pie crust.
  5. Sprinkle pecan halves evenly over the top of the filling.
  6. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and maple syrup, then drizzle this mixture over the pecans.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.
  8. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving.
