Description

A spooky and delicious Vampire Blood Drip Cake perfect for Halloween parties. This cake features a rich chocolate base with a red blood-like drip for a dramatic effect.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup strong black coffee
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • Red food coloring
  • 1 batch chocolate ganache

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  4. Divide batter between pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Cool cakes completely on wire racks.
  6. Make blood drip by heating cream and corn syrup. Add red food coloring until deep red.
  7. Stack cooled cakes with frosting between layers.
  8. Pour blood drip over top, letting it run down sides.
  9. Finish with chocolate ganache decorations.

  • Chill cake before adding drip for better control
