A spooky and fun Witch’s Cauldron Cake perfect for Halloween. This chocolate cake is shaped like a bubbling cauldron with green frosting for a magical effect.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- Green food coloring
- Black fondant (for decoration)
- 1 batch chocolate frosting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan and a metal bowl for the cauldron shape.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in boiling water. The batter will be thin.
- Pour into pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes completely. Stack the round cake and the bowl-shaped cake to form the cauldron.
- Frost with chocolate frosting. Add green food coloring to some frosting for a bubbling effect.
- Decorate with black fondant for the cauldron details.

- Use a heatproof bowl for the cauldron top to ensure it bakes evenly.
- Adjust food coloring for a darker or brighter green.
