Description

Ingredients

  • 6 cups day-old bread, cubed
  • 2 large apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)
  • 3 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Place the bread cubes and diced apples in the dish. Sprinkle raisins over if using.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Pour the milk mixture evenly over the bread and apples. Press down gently to soak.
  5. Drizzle melted butter on top.
  6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and set. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
